Chancellor Merz warns Iran’s government faces moral collapse as Trump moves naval fleet toward region
Berlin, Germany – Web Desk: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz declared that the Iranian government’s days are numbered, criticizing the regime for maintaining power through violence and fear. Speaking alongside Romanian Prime Minister Elie Bolojan, Merz said, “A system that rules against its own people through open violence has lost all moral authority.” He added that Iran’s collapse could occur in just a few weeks, emphasizing the urgent need for accountability and reform.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump renewed threats against Iran following a crackdown on protests. Trump announced that a massive US naval fleet, led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, is moving toward Iran with full force and readiness to act, surpassing even the fleet previously deployed to Venezuela. Trump urged Iran to return to nuclear negotiations promptly and to commit to a fair agreement without nuclear weapons, warning that failure to cooperate could trigger severe consequences.
