Justice Musarrat Hilali ‘declines’ to become FCC judge

(Web Desk)-Supreme Court judge Justice Musarrat Hilali has declined to become a judge of the newly-formed Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).

According to the sources, Justice Hilali cited her health issues for not accepting the post.

The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) was created following passages of the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill which was signed by President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday night.

Supreme Court’s judge Justice Aminuddin Khan was appointed as the first chief justice of the FCC, who took oath his office at Presidency in Islamabad on Friday. President Zardari administer the oath to Justice Khan.

Six other judges, including Justice Hilali, were also due to take oath as FCC members today.

It will yet to be seen who will place Justice Hilali in FCC.
