KARACHI — Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued a stern warning to Afghanistan, stating that any breach of Pakistan’s territorial integrity will be met with a severe and appropriate response.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Naqvi confirmed that a ceasefire has been established between Pakistan and Afghanistan. However, he emphasized that any future violations would not be tolerated. “Afghanistan is well aware of what our response will be if there is another violation. No armed group will be allowed to operate unchecked,” he asserted.
He further stated that any group attempting to enter Pakistan with weapons would face decisive action. Addressing domestic concerns, Naqvi noted that the Punjab government is actively addressing issues related to the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
Highlighting the broader security landscape, the minister praised the ongoing efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, crediting the collaboration between civilian and military leadership for recent progress in stabilizing the country.
Naqvi also met with leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to discuss the prevailing political climate, public concerns, and avenues for enhanced cooperation. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring national security.
