Zero-tolerance policy enforced to control air pollution

Date:

(Web Desk) – Punjab senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Saturday that the zero-tolerance policy enforced to control the air pollution in the province.

Expressing her thoughts, Marriyum said: “The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), district administration and relevant departments remain active in the field at all times.”

She said monitoring of industrial emissions, brick kilns and transport has been further tightened, adding that modern monitoring systems are being used to track the AQI across the city on a moment-by-moment basis.

Aurangzeb said public cooperation has helped make environmental measures effective.

She maintained the Punjab government remains committed to its goal of clean air, and actions will continue without interruption.

It is pertinent to note that despite an increase in cold weather, the Air Quality Index has shown improvement.
