Suhail Afridi has been nominated as the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. He was elected for the first time as a Member of the Provincial Assembly from constituency PK-70.

According to available information, Suhail Afridi hails from District Khyber, from where he will assume the office of Chief Minister. He previously served as President of the Insaf Students Federation (ISF) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he gained recognition as a young leader.

In the current government, Afridi held the position of Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Communication and Works. Following a reshuffle in the provincial cabinet, he was appointed Minister for Higher Education.

Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and professionally, he is a businessman.

In the general elections, Suhail Afridi defeated several candidates by a large margin, including Bilawal Afridi of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Hameedullah Jan Afridi of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.

His nomination signals a shift in the political landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where efforts are being made to bring forward younger leadership.
