When Can Pakistan Face India Again in T20 World Cup 2026?

Date:

Web Desk: The group stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is nearing its conclusion, with teams preparing for the Super 8 phase of the tournament.

India secured a place in the Super 8 after defeating Pakistan in the group stage. Pakistan, meanwhile, must win its remaining group match against Namibia to qualify for the next round.

However, even if Pakistan advances, the tournament format means the two rivals will not meet in the Super 8 stage. According to the competition structure, the top two teams from each of the four groups will progress to the Super 8, where they will be divided into two new groups of four teams each.

As a result, Pakistan and India cannot be placed in the same Super 8 group. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will qualify for the semi-finals, where cross-group matchups will determine the finalists.

This means Pakistan and India can only face each other again in the knockout stage, either in the semi-finals or the final.

The first semi-final is scheduled for March 4, the second on March 5, and the final will be played on March 8.

Pakistan-India cricket matches remain among the most watched sporting events globally, and a potential knockout clash would attract significant global attention and viewership.
