Following the controversial Board of Peace initiative, the United States has unveiled the “New Gaza” project, proposed by Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law of President Donald Trump, at the World Economic Forum (WEF). The ambitious $25 billion plan aims to reconstruct Gaza with futuristic skyscrapers, luxury housing, industrial and agricultural zones, tourism areas, parks, and educational and cultural centers.
The project includes building 100,000 permanent residential units, reviving 75 medical facilities, and developing key infrastructure including ports, airports, and transport corridors. While proponents tout the plan as a path to prosperity and peace, critics argue it overlooks the immediate humanitarian needs of Palestinians, raising concerns about forced displacement and prioritization of investment over human welfare.
