US Sets 5 Tough Conditions for Iran Peace Process, Refuses Compensation

Date:

Washington, DC – Web Desk (May 18, 2026): The United States has set five tough conditions for Iran to advance any peace process between the two countries, while also rejecting Tehran’s demand for compensation for bombing damage on Iranian soil, according to media reports.

The US administration has made it clear that the peace process cannot move forward unless these conditions are met, Fars News Agency reported.

Washington has taken an unequivocal stance, stating it is not prepared to make any form of financial payment to Iran.

US Conditions for Iran

According to media reports, the US conditions include:

  1. Transfer of 400 kilograms of enriched uranium out of Iran
  2. Restriction of Iran’s nuclear activities to a single facility
  3. Only 25 percent flexibility on releasing Iran’s frozen assets
  4. Negotiations to end tensions on all fronts, including Lebanon
  5. No compensation for damage caused by US or Israeli strikes on Iranian territory

The US administration has rejected Iran’s demand for compensation for damages resulting from bombings on Iranian soil.

Heightened Tensions

The development comes amid reports that the US and Israel are preparing for potential strikes against Iran as early as next week. Washington insists that without fulfilling these conditions, no peace process can proceed.
