Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States has described Iran as a long-standing and serious threat amid renewed concerns over its nuclear and missile programs.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Iran is not currently enriching uranium but is attempting to pursue enrichment capabilities. He also criticized Tehran for refusing to negotiate over its ballistic missile program, calling it a major point of concern.
Rubio stated that Iran is seeking to develop intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capabilities while declining to engage in talks on the issue. He reiterated that Washington prefers a diplomatic resolution to tensions but emphasized that diplomacy remains one of several available options.
Separately, US Vice President JD Vance warned Iran to take US military threats seriously. He said President Donald Trump aims to resolve the dispute through negotiations but that alternative measures remain under consideration.
The remarks come as global attention focuses on the future of Iran’s nuclear program and broader Middle East security dynamics, with negotiations seen as critical to preventing further escalation.
