US, Iran Delegations Arrive in Islamabad for High-Level Talks

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Senior delegations from the United States and Iran are set to arrive in Islamabad for high-level negotiations aimed at easing regional tensions, according to diplomatic sources.

US Vice President JD Vance is expected to arrive in Pakistan on Friday night, accompanied by key envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Sources said a 23-member advance team, including security experts and support staff, has already reached Islamabad to facilitate the talks.

On the Iranian side, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are also expected to arrive late Friday night to participate in the negotiations.

The development follows confirmation by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt that President Donald Trump is dispatching a high-level team to Islamabad for talks with Iran. The first round of negotiations is scheduled for Saturday morning.

Separately, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has informed Pakistan’s leadership that Tehran will send a delegation to Islamabad for the discussions.

Analysts view the talks as a critical diplomatic effort that could shape the trajectory of US-Iran relations and contribute to regional stability.
