Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States Air Force has signed a deal to acquire an undisclosed number of interceptor drones from a company reportedly backed by the sons of former President Donald Trump, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The agreement involves West Palm Beach-based firm Powers, whose co-founder and president Brett Velicovich confirmed the sale to the Pentagon. The drones are designed to intercept and destroy hostile unmanned aerial systems mid-air.
This marks the company’s first sale of such weapons to the Pentagon. Financial terms and the number of drones involved have not been disclosed.
Defense analysts note that the US military often enters preliminary procurement agreements when evaluating emerging weapons systems before wider adoption, particularly amid growing global reliance on drone warfare technologies.
The deal comes as the United States continues to expand its counter-drone capabilities, a key focus in modern military strategy.
