Abu Dhabi, UAE – Web Desk: The United Arab Emirates has reported a second consecutive day of missile and drone attacks, according to its Ministry of Defence, in an incident that has sharply raised regional tensions.
UAE authorities have attributed the attacks to Iran, though Tehran has firmly denied any involvement.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards said that if Iran had carried out any strike, it would have been officially announced, calling the UAE’s allegations “baseless.”
UAE officials said that a day earlier, similar attacks injured at least three people, while a drone strike sparked a fire at a key oil facility in Fujairah. Details of damage from the latest incidents have not yet been fully confirmed.
The escalation comes amid growing instability in the region, as fragile ceasefire arrangements between the United States and Iran appear increasingly strained.
Earlier, the United States announced operations under “Project Freedom” aimed at clearing commercial shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy corridor.
Analysts say the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit routes, carrying nearly one-fifth of global oil and gas shipments. Any disruption in the area has significant implications for global energy security.
The United States has also imposed maritime restrictions on Iranian ports and shipping activity, further tightening pressure on Tehran’s oil exports.
Experts warn that despite ceasefire efforts, rising hostilities in the Gulf region continue to raise the risk of a wider confrontation.
