Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Web Desk) – The defense system of the United Arab Emirates intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 26 drones launched from Iran within a single day, the UAE Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
According to the ministry, the projectiles were successfully destroyed in mid-air by the country’s advanced air defense systems, preventing potential damage to infrastructure and populated areas.
Officials said the missiles and drones were fired from Iranian territory, but Emirati defense forces acted swiftly to neutralize the threats before they could reach their targets.
The ministry added that since the start of the ongoing regional conflict, the UAE’s air defense network has intercepted 278 missiles and 1,540 drones, significantly reducing the risk of large-scale destruction.
Authorities also confirmed that six people have been killed so far as a result of attacks linked to the conflict, though further details were not immediately available.
The latest interceptions highlight the growing security tensions in the Gulf region amid the wider confrontation involving Iran, the United States and Israel, which has raised concerns about regional stability and global energy security.
