Istanbul / Abu Dhabi — Web Desk: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced the postponement of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), citing concerns related to UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s health. The statement was later deleted from social media, raising questions and media speculation.
Erdogan’s office initially posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the Turkish president had spoken with Mohammed bin Zayed over the phone, expressing concern and wishing him a swift recovery. The message added that Erdogan’s UAE visit would be rescheduled, with a new date to be announced later.
Although the post was quickly removed, Turkish state media had already broadcast it, prompting some news outlets to retract their initial reports.
The UAE state news agency confirmed a telephone conversation between the two leaders but made no reference to a postponed visit or any health issues. On Saturday, official images showed President Mohammed bin Zayed meeting Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in a cordial setting, appearing healthy and in good spirits.
As of now, both Turkish and UAE authorities have not provided an official explanation regarding the postponement or the health speculations. Analysts note that the deletion of Erdogan’s social media post has fueled uncertainty and international attention.
