Trump: US Can Access Iran’s Underground Enriched Uranium but Doesn’t Need To

Date:

WASHINGTON – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has the capability to access Iran’s “underground protected” enriched uranium stockpiles immediately, but there is currently no need to do so, amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking to media, Trump said he has discussed the Lebanon situation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hezbollah representatives, and some progress has been made. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has rejected the US-brokered ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, with Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem calling the agreement “shameful” and alleging it is actually a plan to destroy a part of Lebanon. He warned that as long as Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon, northern Israel will remain under Hezbollah’s attack range.

Israeli airstrikes continue across various areas of Lebanon, with multiple people killed and wounded. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reports that thousands have been affected by Israeli attacks since March. The United Nations has launched an investigation into an attack in southern Lebanon that killed a UN peacekeeper and wounded two others. In Gaza, despite ceasefire claims, Israeli attacks continue, with at least 11 Palestinians martyred and 32 wounded in the last 24 hours.
