Racist, inappropriate video of Barack and Michelle Obama triggers global backlash
Washington, United States — Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has sparked widespread outrage after sharing a highly offensive and inappropriate video targeting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama on his social media platform Truth Social.
According to international news agencies, the video was part of a controversial election conspiracy post, containing baseless allegations related to the 2020 US presidential election. The content has been widely condemned as racist, unethical, and deeply offensive.
The video’s final segment reportedly depicts Barack and Michelle Obama in a demeaning and offensive manner, replacing their faces with monkeys, a move that triggered sharp criticism not only in the United States but across the world.
Republican Senator Tim Scott described it as one of the most racist actions ever associated with a president and demanded the video’s immediate removal. Prominent Democratic leaders also expressed outrage, urging Americans—particularly Republican leadership—to strongly condemn the act.
Initially, the White House dismissed the backlash as “fake outrage,” claiming the post was a viral internet meme portraying Trump as the “king of the jungle” and Democrats as subjects. However, following mounting criticism, the White House revised its stance, stating the video was shared by mistake and had since been deleted.
The controversy is especially sensitive as it emerged during Black History Month, and Barack Obama remains America’s first Black president, further intensifying public anger and political fallout.
