WASHINGTON D.C., United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has shared dramatic video footage of American airstrikes on Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas on his social media platform, Truth Social . The footage, posted shortly after the latest round of military operations, captures multiple explosions and airstrikes hitting different locations across the strategic Iranian city .
The video surfaced just a day after the United States launched fresh military strikes inside Iran, reportedly targeting more than 80 locations, including air defense systems, radar installations, and over 60 small boats operated by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) . The attacks came as millions of Iranians gathered across the country to participate in the funeral prayers and final rites of the country’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, creating an especially sensitive backdrop for the military action .
Strategic Significance: Bandar Abbas holds immense strategic importance due to its location on the northern side of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes through which approximately one-fifth of global oil supply passes . The port city serves as the headquarters for both Iran’s conventional navy and the naval arm of the IRGC .
Iran’s Response: Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has vowed a “crushing response” to what it described as “blatant aggression” by the United States . The military command stated that the “only safe route for the passage of ships is the route designated by Iran” and warned that it would never accept interference in the management of the Strait of Hormuz . Earlier, Iran’s IRGC announced missile and drone strikes targeting 85 US military facilities, including the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait .
