Trump Reveals ‘Secret Mission’ Moved Over 100 Million Barrels of Oil Through Strait of Hormuz

Date:

WASHINGTON – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has made a stunning revelation, claiming that the US military conducted a “secret mission” last month that successfully moved over 100 million barrels of oil from the Strait of Hormuz to global markets, according to international media reports.

In a statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he personally directed the operation, which aimed to provide safe passage for oil tankers and other commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. He praised US military capabilities and further claimed that the US, not Iran, currently controls the strategic waterway. Trump had previously stated during a cabinet meeting that no single country would control the Strait of Hormuz as it is an international waterway.

Meanwhile, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright told a House committee that he had no knowledge of any secret mission to transport oil through the Strait of Hormuz. When asked if Trump was misleading, Wright said, “Absolutely not. I don’t think the president is lying. I think the president was speaking in general terms about our efforts to stop Iran’s oil shipments.”

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important waterways, through which a large volume of oil and gas from the Persian Gulf reaches global markets, though Iran has kept it closed.
