Washington, United States – Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to direct federal agencies to begin releasing government records related to extraterrestrials and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), citing strong public interest in the topic.
In a social media statement, Trump said he would instruct Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and other relevant agencies to disclose available information on UFOs and alleged extraterrestrial encounters. He described the subject as “highly interesting and important.”
Trump also criticized former President Barack Obama, claiming Obama revealed classified information during discussions about extraterrestrial life, though he provided no evidence to support the allegation.
In a recent interview, Obama said the vastness of the universe suggests the possibility of life beyond Earth but stressed that no evidence of extraterrestrial contact was found during his presidency. He also dismissed conspiracy theories surrounding the classified Area 51 facility.
Pentagon investigations in recent years have found no proof that extraterrestrials have visited Earth. A 2024 government report concluded that post–World War II investigations identified no evidence of non-human technology, with most sightings attributed to ordinary objects or natural phenomena.
