US-led Gaza Peace Board invitation marks major diplomatic success for Pakistan

US President Donald Trump has formally invited the Prime Minister of Pakistan to join the proposed Gaza Peace Board, a diplomatic body aimed at supporting peace, post-war recovery, and long-term stability in Gaza.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed receiving the invitation, calling it a significant diplomatic achievement and a recognition of Pakistan’s consistent and principled stance on the Palestine issue. Officials stated that Pakistan will continue to play an active role in international efforts to establish peace and security in Gaza in line with United Nations resolutions.

According to diplomatic sources, the Gaza Peace Board is part of President Trump’s proposed Gaza Peace Plan (GPP), focusing on ceasefire implementation, humanitarian aid, reconstruction, governance restoration, and long-term political solutions. Invitations have been extended to several world leaders to ensure coordinated international engagement following the conflict.

Pakistan’s inclusion reflects growing international confidence in Islamabad’s diplomatic credibility and constructive role in global peace initiatives. Analysts say the move highlights Pakistan’s balanced diplomacy, combining humanitarian advocacy with pragmatic international engagement.

Pakistan has consistently supported an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians, unrestricted humanitarian aid, and the right of self-determination for Palestinians. Participation in the Peace Board would allow Pakistan to move beyond statements and contribute directly to policy decisions affecting Gaza’s future.

Experts believe Pakistan’s involvement could positively influence transparency, fairness, and accountability in Gaza’s recovery process, reinforcing its image as a responsible and solution-oriented global actor.
