Trump Claims Iran Deal Imminent, US Team Headed to Pakistan

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has claimed that a deal with Iran could be signed as early as tonight, according to remarks cited by Fox Business journalist Maria Bartiromo. The claim, however, has not been officially confirmed or denied by the White House.

Speaking on her morning show, Bartiromo said Trump indicated that negotiations with Iran were nearing completion. The comments follow his earlier remarks suggesting the conflict had effectively ended and that a deal was in its final stages.

Separately, Trump told the New York Post that a US delegation led by the Vice President is expected to arrive in Pakistan within hours for further diplomatic engagement.

However, Iran has refused to participate in the second round of talks in Pakistan, citing a recent US military action against an Iranian vessel as a violation of the ceasefire. Iranian officials have not reversed this decision despite ongoing diplomatic outreach.

Following Trump’s statement, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, but no breakthrough has been announced so far.

Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts to restart negotiations before the expiration of the two-week ceasefire. Earlier this month, Islamabad hosted rare high-level direct talks between the US and Iran on April 11–12, marking the first formal engagement between the two sides since 1979.
