US President Donald Trump highlights immigration, Iran, tariffs, energy and other policies in a Truth Social post ahead of the November midterm elections.
WEB DESK: US President Donald Trump has listed 25 actions and policies that he describes as major achievements of his presidency, highlighting immigration, foreign policy, tariffs, energy and economic measures as the November midterm elections approach.
Trump published the list on Truth Social on September 18, presenting what he called the “TOP 25 TRUMP ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF TERM THREE.” The list formed part of a broader political messaging push ahead of the midterm elections.
Immigration and border policies
Trump highlighted his administration’s immigration crackdown, claiming that no undocumented migrants had been admitted to the United States during the previous 16 months.
He also pointed to reduced refugee admissions and described the US-Mexico border as the most secure in the country’s history. These statements are claims made by Trump and his administration.
The White House has separately promoted a number of immigration-related figures, including deportations, reduced border releases and changes to asylum and visa policies. Some figures and time periods cited by the administration have varied between its public statements.
Iran and foreign policy
Trump also listed the US military campaign against Iran among his accomplishments, claiming that American operations had destroyed Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity.
The White House has similarly described US military operations against Iran as having eliminated or severely damaged the country’s nuclear enrichment capability.
The claim comes as the Iran conflict remains unresolved. Reuters has reported that the war has continued for months, while disruptions to energy supplies have contributed to higher oil and fuel prices and created political and economic pressure for the administration.
Tariffs and manufacturing
Trump also pointed to tariffs imposed on US trading partners, arguing that the measures would help bring manufacturing back to the United States.
His administration has made tariffs and industrial policy central parts of its economic agenda. The White House has separately promoted manufacturing investment, job creation and tax changes as evidence of economic progress.
However, broader assessments of the US economy have also identified continuing challenges involving inflation, energy costs, employment and the effects of policy changes. Reuters reported in July that Trump’s economic record had produced a combination of resilience and signs of stalled progress.
Midterm elections approach
The November 2026 midterm elections will determine control of both chambers of Congress and are therefore significant for Trump’s ability to advance his legislative agenda during the remainder of his term.
Trump’s latest list comes amid political debate over his administration’s record and the impact of the Iran conflict and higher energy prices.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll published September 14 put Trump’s overall approval rating at 35%, up slightly from a record-low 33% in an earlier survey. The same poll found economic concerns and the Iran conflict were important factors in the political environment heading into the midterms.
White House promotes broader record
The White House has separately published its own account of Trump’s record, describing his administration’s actions on border security, energy, taxes, national security, healthcare, technology and other areas as major accomplishments.
That document represents the administration’s own assessment of its record and uses language such as “historic” and “transformational.”
Trump’s latest 25-point list similarly reflects his own characterization of his administration’s achievements. Individual claims require separate assessment against official data, legislation, court rulings and independent reporting.
