KARACHI: In preparation for the Pakistan Maritime International Expo & Conference (PIMEC-2025), scheduled to be held from November 3 to 6 at the Expo Centre in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, the Karachi Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic diversion and management plan. This plan is designed to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion during the four-day event.
According to the traffic arrangement, diversions, filter points, and alternative routes have been set up across crucial city areas including Karsaz, Millennium Mall, NIPA Chowrangi, New Town, and Liaquatabad. Heavy and commercial vehicles approaching from Shahra-e-Faisal toward the National Stadium via Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road and Sir Shah Suleman Road will be restricted from entering to avoid bottlenecks.
Motorists coming from Karsaz and Deigh Road are advised to use Rashid Minhas Road through Millennium Mall and NIPA. Heavy vehicles from Rashid Minhas Road will no longer be allowed to use Dalmia Road towards the Stadium; instead, they will be directed toward Shahra-e-Faisal via NIPA, Askari IV, or Drigh Road.
Furthermore, heavy traffic from NIPA Chowrangi to Hassan Square has been prohibited, with alternate routes suggested such as NIPA to Gulshan Chowrangi to Sohrab Goth, or via NIPA-Rashid Minhas-Millennium-Drigh Road. Traffic originating from New Town and adjacent areas will be rerouted through Shaheed-e-Millat Road using the Baloch Bridge.
From Liaquatabad No. 10 to Hassan Square, heavy vehicles will not be allowed on Sir Suleman Road. Instead, drivers should use Shahra-e-Pakistan via Karimabad extending toward Sohrab Goth.
These measures have been put in place to facilitate orderly and efficient traffic movement during PIMEC-2025, minimizing disruption while accommodating the expected influx of attendees. The event highlights Pakistan’s maritime industry and underscores Karachi’s role as a prominent port city.
The Karachi Traffic Police urge citizens and commuters to follow the announced routes and cooperate with traffic officials during the event period from November 3 to 6, 2025.
