HOLAND: Tom Holland has marked an “amazing” milestone in his sobriety journey as he has not consumed alcohol in three and a half years.
The Avengers actor admitted the journey was ‘life-changing’ as he celebrates quitting drinking alcohol.
Talking to Esquire in an interview on September 9, Holland shared insights about how he feels about his sobriety accomplishment.
“It feels amazing,” Tom told the outlet. “A little bit like a brand-new identity almost,” he said.
Excitedly sharing about his non-alcoholic beer company, Bero’s success, Tom said, “I’m really proud of it.”
He continued, “Every day we’re making big steps in the right direction, and we’re growing every day—thinking of new ways to innovate and coming up with new ideas for products,” he added.
Tom said, “We have some exciting stuff that we’re developing for the winter of this year and the summer of next year, which I’m really excited about, it’s an ever-changing, ever-growing process.”
Earlier in 2025, Tom opened up about his struggle with wanting alcohol.
“My problem was that I would have one drink and be fine, and then I would just go too far,” he told Men’s Health.
As he divulged more about his sobriety journey, he confessed that there were moments when he struggled with wanting alcohol. But his lawyer offered him “a really poignant piece of advice,” telling Holland, “You’ll never wake up the morning after a night out and wish you had a drink.”
Tom started abstaining in Dry January earlier in 2022, originally planning to not consume just for the month. However, his sobriety extended when he realized alcohol had become an essential part of his life.
“Every Friday after work was a write-off: Let’s get drunk and have a good time. I didn’t have bad experiences, but I would drink enough so that I would ruin my next day,” the Spider-Man star said.
