A medical source said an Israeli strike killed the son of Gaza Health Ministry Director-General Munir al-Bursh, while two others also died in separate incidents.
Web Desk: Three Palestinians were killed in separate incidents in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, September 19, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu Agency, as violence continued despite the ceasefire that began in October 2025.
Among those killed was Basir al-Bursh, the son of Gaza Health Ministry Director-General Munir al-Bursh. A medical source said Basir was killed in a strike targeting him in the al-Zahra neighbourhood west of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
A second Palestinian was reportedly killed in an Israeli drone strike in the Shujaiya neighbourhood east of Gaza City, according to the same medical source.
A Palestinian girl also died from wounds she had previously sustained from Israeli army fire north of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Further firing reported across Gaza
Witnesses also reported intermittent Israeli military fire east of Jabalia refugee camp. No injuries were reported from those incidents.
In southern Gaza, witnesses reported Israeli army fire in the al-Shakoush area southwest of Khan Younis. They also reported drone activity and helicopter fire south of al-Mawasi and in areas near Rafah. These accounts were reported by Anadolu based on witnesses and were not independently verified by the news agency.
Ceasefire remains under strain
The latest deaths add to a continuing casualty toll reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry since the October 10, 2025 ceasefire.
The ministry said Israeli violations of the ceasefire had resulted in 1,386 Palestinian deaths and 4,784 injuries by the latest figures cited in the report. The Gaza Health Ministry operates under the territory’s de facto authorities, and casualty figures from the conflict are routinely attributed to the source by international organisations.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported earlier this month that 1,358 Palestinians had been reported killed and 4,541 injured since the ceasefire announcement, based on Gaza Health Ministry figures covering an earlier reporting period.
The difference between the UN’s earlier figure and the newer figure reflects the passage of time and additional reported casualties.
Israel says it continues operations against armed groups
Israel’s military has continued to report operations in Gaza during the ceasefire period.
In recent statements, the Israel Defense Forces said it had carried out strikes against individuals it identified as members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, alleging that they were involved in attacks or efforts to rebuild militant capabilities.
The IDF has described some of these operations as necessary to remove what it considers immediate threats and has said measures were taken to reduce civilian harm.
The military’s statements do not specifically address the three deaths reported on September 19 in the Anadolu account.
Humanitarian situation remains critical
OCHA has continued to describe conditions in Gaza as severe, with military activity causing casualties and property damage while shortages of medical supplies, water and sanitation services remain major concerns.
The UN agency has also warned that repeated displacement and damaged infrastructure continue to expose civilians to significant risks.
A recent building collapse in Gaza City killed 21 people, according to Reuters, highlighting the dangers posed by heavily damaged structures nearly a year after the ceasefire.
