The Field Marshal and I consult each other on every matter: Prime Minister of Pakistan

Date:

LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that foreign elements do not want to see Pakistan prosper, and the challenge of terrorism is once again re-emerging — but it will be completely eradicated.

Speaking to Pakistani journalists based in the UK, he stated that the political and military leadership are on the same page on all key national matters, including foreign policy.

“I consult with the Field Marshal on every national issue,” he said, adding that economic matters are also addressed through mutual consultation. “I pray that this harmony continues so we can rectify the mistakes of the past.”

He said that the Pakistan Armed Forces taught India a lesson it will never forget. “Our brave forces won the war against India. Under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the just struggle. During the war, the entire nation stood firmly behind its armed forces.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz told journalists that his visits to New York and Washington were highly successful and productive. He called the United Nations meeting on Gaza a welcome development, noting that countries like Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt also participated in the important session.

He said that President Trump chaired the meeting on Gaza, and Pakistan was specially invited to attend. “Encouraging discussions took place during the Gaza meeting, and I firmly believe that positive outcomes from this recent meeting will emerge very soon,” he concluded.
