Survivor’s Account
Panithi Thamkaew, one of the survivors, described the attack as devastating. “When I heard the explosion, I thought it was all over. The blast was so powerful I was terrified. A normal explosion couldn’t have been that strong,” he said. He added that he is no longer mentally able to work at sea and had to leave his job, receiving only $5,000 in outstanding wages from the company .

The sailors are seeking a court order for compensation, holding the company accountable for safety failures . The lawsuit comes as shipping and oil tanker safety in the Strait of Hormuz remains a growing concern amid escalating regional tensions .
