PESHAWAR : Security forces in Peshawar successfully repelled a terrorist attack on the Matni Police Station on Saturday, killing two militants and injuring two others in a fierce gunbattle. The remaining attackers managed to flee, prompting a large-scale search operation in the area.
According to CCPO Mehmood Saeed, the assailants attempted to storm the police station using heavy weaponry, but were met with a swift and coordinated response from law enforcement. An Elite Force unit was deployed to support the operation.
Authorities recovered weapons and explosives from the bodies of the deceased militants. The incident underscores the continued threat of militancy in the region and the readiness of Pakistan’s police forces to counter such attacks. Security has been heightened across Peshawar as investigations continue.
