(Web Desk) – Australia won the toss and asked Zimbabwe to bat in the T20 World Cup group match at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo.
Speaking after the toss, Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza said he was happy to bat first.
He said he expected the surface to be consistent “that might slow up as the sun comes out and the game drags on.”
Zimbabwe have brought in an extra spinner but Brendon Taylor, who hit the winning runs in the victory over Australia back in 2007, has been ruled out of the tournament.
Australia, meanwhile, dropped Cooper Connolly and Xavier Bartlett and added Tim David and Ben Dwarshuis.
Steve Smith is yet to join the team as he was called after captain Mitchell Marsh was ruled due to a groin injury. Stand-in skipper Travis Head said that he will arrive tonight.
