Definition of Friend of the Court
During the hearing, the Supreme Court praised Barrister Salman Safdar for fulfilling the responsibility of Friend of the Court. The Chief Justice said that Barrister Salman Safdar has fulfilled the responsibility well. He appreciates the role of Friend of the Court. He also appreciates the government for providing excellent facilities.

The case of Latif Khosa
When Latif Khosa came to the rostrum at the beginning of the hearing, the Chief Justice remarked that you don’t understand that the appeal regarding Tosha Khana has become ineffective.
Latif Khosa said that if normality is seen, this is correct. One application was for summoning defense witnesses while the other application was for case transfer. Under certain circumstances, the court can look into this matter.
The Chief Justice said that my advice would be that the relevant forum should hear only one case. Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan said that the central appeals are pending in the High Court, all the interim orders have been consolidated. The Chief Justice remarked that we cannot use the powers of the appellate court.
Latif Khosa told the court that you, as the head of the judiciary, can look into the matter in view of the specific circumstances, to which the Chief Justice remarked that we have full respect for the High Courts.
