Karachi (Special Correspondent): In light of repeated fatal accidents on Mehran Highway, a contempt of court petition has been filed by Advocate Jahangir Shams, Advocate Muhammad Ammar Noonari, Barrister Ali Hamza and Barrister Faiz Muhammad.
Taking serious notice of the matter, the Honourable Sindh High Court has issued notices to the concerned authorities, including SSP Khairpur, SSP Shaheed Benazirabad, SSP Naushahro Feroze, SSP Matiari, and others. The court has directed them to appear in person to explain the failure to implement safety measures and comply with previous judicial directives.
The petitioners argued that the lack of proper safety arrangements on Mehran Highway has resulted in the loss of numerous innocent lives, while the responsible departments have failed to take corrective action despite clear court orders.
