Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah held talks with Danish Ambassador Maja Dyrss Mortensen, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, boosting investment, and expanding development cooperation between Pakistan and Denmark.
During the meeting, both sides discussed investment opportunities, particularly in the energy sector. The chief minister said the provincial government aims to expand its role not only in power generation but also in electricity distribution, noting that Sindh already has its own transmission company.
He emphasized the need to increase power generation and reduce line losses to provide affordable electricity, ease public burden, and support industrial growth.
Environmental protection and renewable energy were also key topics, with a particular focus on wind power projects. Shah highlighted Sindh’s vast potential for wind energy and reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting clean energy initiatives. The Danish envoy expressed strong interest in green energy investments.
The discussion also covered coastal development, including the strategic importance of Keti Bandar. The chief minister described it as a historically significant area with potential to be developed into a modern port, which could ease pressure on Karachi’s ports and emerge as a major economic hub. The Danish ambassador termed the project important for regional trade.
Shah invited Danish investors to explore opportunities in Sindh, assuring a business-friendly environment. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening diplomatic ties, marking over 75 years of relations between the two countries.
