SHC issues notices to govt, LEAs over missing persons cases

Date:

KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the government and law enforcement agencies, seeking their response in cases concerning the recovery of missing persons.

The hearing was presided over by Acting Chief Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput.

During the proceedings, a petitioner’s lawyer reported that Saad Alam went missing after visiting a barber near Ferozabad Police Station and has not returned home.

Despite a missing person report filed by his father-in-law, no leads have been found. The court inquired whether the individual might have left voluntarily, to which the lawyer confirmed that he only went out for a haircut and his phone has remained switched off.

In another case, the lawyer stated that Abdul Subghat, released on bail after three years in prison, went missing from the Sohrab Goth area.

The court directed all parties to conduct searches and submit progress reports within four weeks before adjourning the hearing.
