Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan secured a hard-fought 2-1 ODI series victory over Australia after defeating the visitors by four wickets in the third and final match, successfully chasing a target of 158 runs in the 42nd over.
Speaking after the match, Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Afridi said that every team prepares home pitches according to their strengths, adding that Pakistan also used conditions effectively to win the series.
Afridi stated that it is too early to make predictions about the ICC World Cup, which is still 14–15 months away. He emphasized that the pitches were challenging and scoring runs was not easy throughout the series.
He further explained that the team management avoided frequent changes to provide continuity to players. Responding to questions about Shadab Khan, Afridi said the all-rounder bowled with control and played a key role in securing the win.
The skipper also noted that fielding two fast bowlers, including Haris Rauf, proved to be a better tactical option, while senior players are continuously working to improve performances.
