Military Targets, Not Port
According to the coalition, the strikes hit Houthi military facilities and targets—not the port of Al-Hudaydah itself. All ports remain open and operational for maritime traffic, the coalition emphasized .
The coalition warned that it would respond forcefully if Houthi attacks persist, calling the strikes a necessary response to threats against international shipping .
Houthi Claims
Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV earlier reported that Saudi warplanes struck Al-Hudaydah and Kamaran Island, while Yemen’s state news agency claimed telecommunications infrastructure in Al-Hudaydah was also hit. The strikes follow Houthi claims of attacking two Saudi oil tankers for violating a naval blockade declared by the group six days ago in response to the siege on Yemen and the closure of Sanaa Airport .
