Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Web Desk: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 18 drones and seven ballistic missiles targeting the eastern province within the past 24 hours.
The statement, issued by Ministry spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed that the incoming drones and missiles were successfully neutralized before causing any significant damage. Earlier reports indicated that debris from the intercepted missiles fell near energy installations, though authorities are still assessing potential losses.
In addition, the Ministry reported that four more ballistic missiles and two drones aimed at the same region were also destroyed during the same period, underscoring the kingdom’s vigilance in protecting critical infrastructure.
Saudi Arabia’s interception operations highlight ongoing regional security concerns and the country’s reliance on advanced missile defense systems to safeguard its energy and industrial assets.
