Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistani actor Sarwat Gilani has emphasized that raising children is not solely a mother’s responsibility, calling for greater involvement from fathers in parenting.
Speaking during a recent morning show, Gilani highlighted the physical and emotional demands placed on mothers, noting that many spend their entire day managing childcare, education, meals, discipline, and daily routines.
She said that by the end of the day, it is natural for mothers to feel exhausted or frustrated, adding that many fathers only witness brief moments of stress without recognizing the continuous effort behind it.
Gilani argued that if parental roles were reversed, many men might struggle to cope with the pressures of full-time childcare. She urged husbands to appreciate their partners’ efforts, support them, and acknowledge their role in front of their children.
Discussing fatherhood, Gilani said a father’s behavior often reflects his own upbringing and family environment. She noted that emotionally distant fathers may have experienced similar dynamics in their own childhoods.
The actor also pointed out that in some cases, mothers rely heavily on their sons for emotional support, which can later affect those children’s ability to balance their roles as fathers.
Gilani’s remarks have resonated widely on social media, with many users praising her for raising realistic and important points about shared parenting responsibilities and family dynamics.
