MUMBAI – Web Desk: Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt has issued a formal apology following a controversy over the lyrics of his song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke,” appearing before the National Commission for Women to express regret.
During his appearance, the actor not only clarified his stance but also demonstrated social responsibility by committing to cover the educational expenses of 50 girls belonging to tribal communities.
Dutt appeared before the commission in response to a summons seeking clarification over allegedly obscene and inappropriate content in the song. During the hearing, he stated that he had no prior detailed knowledge of the lyrics, their translation, or the final presentation, as his role was limited to performing professionally under contractual agreement.
The actor offered a sincere apology before the commission, expressing respect for women, social values, and cultural sensitivity. He emphasized that he does not support any content that is inappropriate for women or any segment of society.
