MUMBAI, INDIA – Web Desk: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after his health reportedly deteriorated, according to Indian media reports.
Family members, including Salman Khan, were seen arriving at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra on Tuesday. The actor was later spotted leaving the hospital under tight security but did not speak to reporters gathered outside.
The family has not officially disclosed the reason for Salim Khan’s hospitalization, and further updates on his condition are awaited.
Salim Khan, who turned 90 in November 2025, is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Indian cinema. As part of the iconic screenwriting duo Salim-Javed with Javed Akhtar, he reshaped mainstream Hindi cinema in the 1970s with blockbuster films such as Sholay, Zanjeer, and Deewaar.
Their films achieved massive commercial success and left a lasting cultural impact on Indian and global cinema.
