Sadaf Ehsan retains NA seat as ECP dismisses JUI-F petition

Date:

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed the petition filed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Hina Bibi concerning a women’s reserved seat in the National Assembly.

In its reserved verdict, the Election Commission decided to retain Sadaf Ehsan as a Member of the National Assembly and ruled against her de-notification.

Hina Bibi had argued in her petition that Sadaf Ehsan was not included in the party’s priority list for women’s reserved seats, asserting that she was therefore ineligible to be declared elected.

After examining the case, the Election Commission rejected the plea and upheld Sadaf Ehsan’s position in the National Assembly.
