Moscow, Russia – Web Desk: Russia has sharply criticized the United States and Israel over their recent military actions against Iran, claiming the operations ended in a “crushing defeat” and highlighting the need for an urgent diplomatic solution to ease Middle East tensions.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the United States and Israel launched what she described as a “unilateral and unprovoked” attack on Iran on February 28. According to her, the outcome demonstrated the failure of military force in resolving complex regional conflicts.
Speaking to Russian media, Zakharova reiterated Moscow’s long-standing position that there is no military solution to the crisis and warned that continued escalation could further destabilize the Middle East.
She stressed that sustainable peace can only be achieved through inclusive political dialogue and diplomacy, urging all parties to return to negotiations and consider each other’s positions seriously.
Her remarks come amid heightened global attention on the Iran conflict, with several countries advocating de-escalation and renewed diplomatic engagement following recent ceasefire developments.
