Mecca & Medina, Saudi Arabia – Web Desk: Thousands of worshippers from around the world gathered at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid Nabawi on the first night of Ramadan for the Tarawih prayers, creating deeply spiritual and inspiring scenes.
Pilgrims offered prayers around the Kaaba in Mecca and near the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, expressing gratitude to Allah for the arrival of the holy month and seeking forgiveness and blessings. The heartwarming gatherings moved many to tears and reflected devotion across generations.
Ramadan commenced today in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, and Afghanistan following local moon sightings. In countries including Turkey, Sweden, Australia, Egypt, Oman, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, France, and Japan, the first fast will be observed on Thursday. Meanwhile, Muslim communities in the US, Canada, Belgium, and the UK remain divided over moon sightings, with some beginning Ramadan today and others from Thursday.
