Web Desk: A first-year student of Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST), Shaheed Benazirabad, was found murdered on Sunday, two days after he went missing while returning from the university.
Police recovered the body of Aqib Ali Almani from a banana field along the Nawabshah-Sakrand Road. Authorities said the motive behind the killing had not yet been determined.
Student was enrolled in Data Sciences
Almani, a resident of Naushehro Feroze district, was enrolled in the university’s Data Sciences programme.
His uncle, Zulfiqar Almani, alleged that the student had been subjected to severe torture before his death. The allegation has not been independently confirmed.
Students protest over hostel security
Following the discovery of Almani’s body, QUEST students held a protest against the killing.
The protesting students alleged that Almani had been abducted from the university hostel and raised concerns about security arrangements at the campus hostel. These allegations remain part of the ongoing investigation.
Police investigation underway
Police said an investigation into the murder was underway. Authorities have yet to establish the motive for the killing, according to the report.
