(Web Desk): Punjab government has approved additional funds worth billions of rupees for scholarships of students.
Under scholarship programmme, more than 170,000 students will get scholarships in the financial year 2025-26.
The Punjab government will spend a huge amount on the scholarship programme.
The government approved the release of additional funds worth Rs16.5 billion.
Additional funds of Rs1.25 billion have been allocated for 35,000 students while additional funds of Rs5.75 billion have been approved for 55,000 students and 80,000 students will get Rs9.5 billion for scholarships.
Scholarships will also be given to talented students from Punjab and other provinces.
According to Punjab Education Department, scholarships will provide equal educational opportunities to the youth.
