PTI decries alleged ‘violation’ of SC order on Imran Khan’s medical checkup

Date:

PTI says restrictions on doctors’ access to Imran Khan violate a Supreme Court order requiring his medical examination.

WEB DESK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has accused authorities of violating a Supreme Court order concerning a medical checkup of party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.

The party has expressed concern over what it described as restrictions on doctors’ access to Imran Khan, calling for the Supreme Court’s directions regarding his medical examination to be implemented.

PTI raises concerns over medical access

According to the report, PTI leaders have objected to the alleged restrictions surrounding Imran Khan’s medical examination.

The party maintains that doctors should be allowed to examine the former prime minister in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directions.

PTI has previously raised concerns about Imran Khan’s access to medical professionals and his health while he remains incarcerated.

Supreme Court order at centre of dispute

The latest disagreement centres on the implementation of the Supreme Court’s instructions regarding Imran Khan’s medical checkup.

PTI has urged the relevant authorities to ensure that the court’s order is followed and that medical professionals are provided the necessary access.

The party’s position adds another point of contention between PTI and government authorities over the treatment and legal status of Imran Khan.

Imran Khan remains in custody

Imran Khan, who served as Pakistan’s prime minister from 2018 to 2022, has remained in custody in connection with multiple legal cases.

His imprisonment has remained a major political issue in Pakistan, with PTI repeatedly calling for relief in cases against its founder.

The latest dispute over his medical examination comes amid continued political tensions between PTI and the government.

PTI is expected to continue pursuing the matter through legal and political channels, while the implementation of the Supreme Court’s order remains under scrutiny.
