Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: New details have emerged regarding former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s delayed hospital transfer and restricted access to his personal doctors. According to party sources, on February 14, barrister Gohar contacted Alima Khan requesting the names of two doctors to be sent to Kot Lakhpat Jail. Alima Khan reportedly opposed sending the doctors to jail and instead insisted that Khan be transferred to a hospital.
Sources revealed that Alima Khan, who was closely involved in PTI’s past dharna (protest) movements, remained in constant contact with senior party leaders. In a subsequent call, barrister Gohar informed her that the government was willing to approve Imran Khan’s hospital transfer.
Party insiders stated that Alima Khan objected to the involvement of Qasim Zaman and consistently advocated for Dr. Noshirwan Burki to oversee Khan’s treatment. A conference call involving senior PTI leaders was also held to discuss the matter. According to sources, the parliamentary party agreed that Khan’s hospital transfer was delayed largely due to Alima Khan’s handling of the situation.
Meanwhile, Ayaz Sadiq and Mohsin Naqvi maintained ongoing contact with PTI leadership, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi personally liaised with relevant institutions regarding Khan’s medical care.
These revelations provide an internal perspective on the decision-making and challenges faced in managing the treatment and hospital access for the imprisoned PTI leader.
