ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board has recorded a major financial boost after the Pakistan Super League franchises were sold in their most expensive auction to date, doubling the board’s overall PSL revenue.
Under the new agreements, the PCB will receive an additional Rs3.6 billion in franchise fees. With this increase, total PSL revenue is now expected to exceed Rs7 billion, marking a sharp rise from previous cycles and underlining the league’s growing commercial value.
The PCB will now earn Rs6.22 billion annually from franchise fees alone. Lahore Qalandars will remain the highest-paying franchise, contributing Rs670 million per year. Karachi Kings follow closely with an annual fee of Rs640 million, while Peshawar Zalmi will pay Rs490 million.
Islamabad United’s annual franchise fee has been set at Rs480 million, reflecting its continued position as one of the league’s most competitive and marketable teams. Quetta Gladiators will contribute Rs340 million per year under the revised structure.
The franchise of Multan Sultans is not included in the current cycle, as it is scheduled to go back to auction next year. Once that process is completed, overall PSL revenue is expected to rise further and move beyond the Rs7 billion mark.
