Mumbai, India — Web Desk: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has dismissed rumours about her alleged separation from husband Nick Jonas, saying she has stopped paying attention to speculation about her marriage.
Speaking about persistent rumours surrounding her relationship, Chopra said that those wishing for the end of her marriage should keep such thoughts to themselves, as she no longer considers such speculation worth her time.
The 43-year-old actress addressed the issue openly for the first time, according to entertainment media reports, after recent claims about a possible split reignited public discussion. She said she never understood why her marriage attracted criticism from some observers.
Chopra suggested that the scrutiny may have stemmed from cultural differences, as she and Jonas come from different countries, religions, and backgrounds. She said the debate over their age gap and intercultural marriage was, at times, uncomfortable, but the couple chose to prioritise their relationship over public opinion.
The actress said the couple has now been married for eight years and added that people waiting for their relationship to end are entitled to their opinions, but she does not dwell on such matters. She emphasised that individuals have the right to make their own life choices and decide whom they want to share their lives with.
Chopra also praised Jonas, describing him as sincere and thoughtful, qualities she said he inherited from his parents. She said she did not initially realise that Jonas shared similar values and outlook, but that their compatibility has helped strengthen their relationship.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas married in 2018 in Rajasthan, India, in a high-profile wedding ceremony that drew global media attention. Chopra was 36 at the time, while Jonas was 26. In January 2022, the couple welcomed a daughter, Malti Marie, through surrogacy.
The couple remains one of the most high-profile celebrity marriages bridging Hollywood and Bollywood, frequently attracting global fan interest and media coverage.
