(Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met a delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami led by party chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman in Islamabad, where officials provided a closed-door briefing on the evolving regional security situation.
According to official sources, the meeting focused on developments in Afghanistan, Iran, and the broader Middle East and Gulf region, amid rising geopolitical tensions.
The Jamaat-e-Islami delegation included senior leaders Liaquat Baloch, Mian Muhammad Aslam, and Asif Luqman Qazi. During the meeting, the delegation was also briefed on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at maintaining regional stability and protecting national interests.
Officials further informed the delegation about measures taken by Pakistani embassies in Iran and Gulf countries to facilitate and assist Pakistani nationals during the ongoing regional developments.
Several senior government figures also attended the meeting, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Attaullah Tarar, Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry.
The meeting highlighted the government’s efforts to keep political leadership informed about diplomatic strategies and regional security developments.
