Mid-January fuel price cut likely to bring relief for consumers amid falling global oil rates
Pakistani consumers may see further relief at the fuel pump as petrol, diesel, kerosene, and LDO prices are expected to decrease from January 16, 2026, subject to the prime minister’s approval. The proposed reduction follows a major New Year price cut and reflects declining global oil rates, customs duty adjustments, and exchange rate benefits. Petrol may drop by Rs4.59 per litre, high-speed diesel by Rs2.70, kerosene by Rs1.82, and light diesel oil by Rs2.08. Officials from the Ministry of Energy confirmed the review of domestic and international factors guiding the fortnightly adjustment, aiming to ease transportation and household costs amid inflation concerns.
